MacArthur Lake Cabin (Re) Construction

Ryan on the RoofPresently, we’re working on a job way up MacArthur Lake fixing snow damage from 8 foot of snow on a cabin belonging to one of our regular clients. While the cabin was insured, the insurance only covered rebuilding the damaged roof back to its original condition — 2″x4″ rafters held up by sagging logs with a loft floor of 2″x6″s laid flat! The owner decided that, instead of putting it back the way it was — unsafe and destined for the same fate as before — that he wants it rebuilt “the right way.”

So far we’ve torn off the existing collapsed roof, pulled out the ruined drywall, sills, and bad flooring, and we’re in the process of rebuilding it all.

Did i mention the job is far, far away and the road is goat-approved? This is four-wheel drive country only, and, when it rains…like it did last week, even a four-wheel drive has problems unless you chain up because the road turns slick as hot grease.

We’ll be finishing the project this coming week and then it’s off to build a deck, then replace a trailer roof.

Is your project next? Call or contact us if you need a bid. We’ve got an excellent crew ready and willing to make your dreams, large or small, come true at reasonable rates. Jobs by the bid or by the hour, your choice.

SIt's a long way back home...and that's Ryan you see working. From The Roof looking down detail of construction, a vapor and moisture barrier insulating the floor Swank09_469 Kevin, master carpenter, anchoring tarps in case it rains.
